Our mission
Lingua Flowing exists to make learning English, Italian, Spanish, French, and German structured, practical, and — above all — sustainable in everyday life, without relying on superhuman willpower or vocabulary lists that fade within weeks.
How it started
When I moved to Italy, I quickly realized that knowing a language on paper and speaking it in real life are two very different things. I'd studied English my whole life, but learning Italian from scratch while actually living there forced me to rethink everything I thought I knew about learning a language.
I tried dozens of apps. Some were great at gamification but weak on pronunciation. Others had dense content but no clear sense of progress. None of them combined the three things that, in my experience, actually make a difference: a level-based track built on the CEFR, real pronunciation correction, and spaced repetition so what you just learned doesn't slip away.
Lingua Flowing was born out of that gap — not as a market opportunity, but as the tool I wish I'd had when I first got here.
How we think about teaching languages
Structure before gamification
Streaks and points motivate in the short term, but they don't replace a clear CEFR-based track.
Pronunciation isn't optional
Without real correction, accent mistakes stick and get harder to undo the longer they go uncorrected.
Memory is a system, not an effort
Well-timed spaced repetition beats hours of re-reading everything the night before you'd otherwise forget it.
Who's behind it
Leandro Scarpatti is a digital entrepreneur and the creator of Lingua Flowing. Based in Italy, he leads the product from his own day-to-day experience of learning a new language.
